Gemma Merritt CTA
Gemma is a Chartered Tax Adviser and is responsible for all compliance and tax advice work.

She spent the first 10 years of her career in Industry, and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant with the Chartered Institute of Managment Accountants (CIMA) in 2004.

In 2007 she decided to move into practice and left the safety of employment to become a sole-trader. Realising that tax was a big part of small practice accounting she decided to add another qualification to her name and started on the road to becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser.

In 2014, she decided to incorporate the business and River View Tax & Accountancy was born!

With qualifications in both accountancy (although no,longer a CIMA member) and tax she is very well placed to be able to help you with most queries relating to owner managed businesses or personal tax situations.

When not working or being 'Mum' Gemma is a qualified athletics coach, co-event director of the local junior parkrun, a committee member of a local running club and a governor at a local junior school. In her spare time she can be found out running on the local trails, on family adventures in their campervan or listening to music with a glass of wine in hand!
Clare Hollinshead
Clare is responsible for all the bookkeeping, payroll and sole-trader accounts within the company.
Having completed the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, and with experience in several accounts and bookkeeping packages she is very well placed to be able to help you with all your bookkeeping queries.

Clare joined the company in 2014, just as it moved into it's first 'proper' office at Basepoint Business Centre. Starting off just doing a few hours a week to help out with bookkeeping, she has since completed her AAT qualification and is now a valuable (and irreplaceable) member of the team, with overall responsibility for the bookkeeping function of the business.
In her free time Clare is a keen rugby player and captain of the Andover Rugby Club ladies team. When she's not running round a rugby pitch, Clare spends her time at various keep fit and circuits sessions, out running or on long walks with her springer spaniel Trooper.
